PostSubject: Pro48 for a 2003 Maxima ECU   Tue Jul 21, 2009 10:38 am

I have a VQ35DE maxima 2003, high compression built motor running the maxima ecu, I'm looking for standalone tuning, I've been recommended by a few guys local to use the Pro48 for NA and nonboost application with the spray option for later on. So with using the Maxima ECU, what do I need to get one of these Pro48s up and running in my car? If anyone is in South Florida that's a dealer feel free to contact em as well. I'd really like to get this cause of the ability to tune the cam timing =).

Get ahold of TPS in West Palm Beach. I'm not sure of any differences on the maxima, the ecu plug may be different than the Z, but we haven't seen one to be sure. The 48 will run the variable cam on that engine as well.

Nice that's really good about the cam timing. This is defninitely an option and I'll be contacting him. Errol is the one that would be doing the tuning? I was looking into the UTEC but it doesn't have the cam timing option. I've seen my engine pull out an extra 20whp+ with a Haltech standalone system hooked up because of the cam timing being tuned properly. So the Pro48 works as a piggy back then? As far as the connector, it is different than the Z. Reason I know is because the only way to hook up the UTEC to the Maxima ECU is by hacking it up, the plug and play harness for the 350z doesn't connect to the Maxima. I've seen people with the UTEC wired to the Maxima's ECU and tuned and it works great. So that is a question I'm wondering how to get around?
