I have limited time tuning mine but even so the difference particularly on an ATM car from the AEM is tremendous. I have probably the most highly tuned AEM of anyone out there because I test vehicle drivability for a living. My AEM drove very well however the transmission, idle, sequential controls are infinately better with the ProEFI. It seriously runs like a stone stock TT Supra right out of the factory with the ProEFI. In fact the sequential operation is superior. It barely dips 1-2 psi on the transition and I run the turbos wide open boost which normally makes the dip horrible. The trans has a nice light smooth upshift but chirps the tires into 3rd at WOT. No more idle dip when you get off the throttle or bang into gear. I had some wideband issues using the AEM but am resolving that by going to use the internal controller. My AF curve has not been set completely and running very easy timing compared to my AEM yet the car seems just as fast. No more need for ignition boxes and the timing you request is the timing you get. The AEM ignition timing wanders so the engine would knock if I set the timing to more aggressive values as it intermittently threw in more than I had calibrated.
Overall not in the same league. The new AEM is going to be significantly better than the current version however it will not have the same level of control (believe me I know what it will be) to do what the ProEFI can do now.
